CZ purlin roll forming machine
The CZ Purlin Roll Forming Machine is a high-efficiency cold roll forming line designed to produce C and Z-shaped steel purlins for steel structure buildings, warehouses, and roofing systems.
It integrates manual changeover, embossing roller, pre-cutting, and in-line punching functions, enabling one-time completion of uncoiling, leveling, punching, embossing, roll forming, and

Core Function Detailed Description
1.In-line Punching System

Function Description: Configured with a high-precision hydraulic in-line punching unit, supporting simultaneous punching on the purlin web and flange. The punching position, quantity, and hole diameter

can be set via the touch screen, realizing fully automatic punching without stopping the machine.
2.Front Cutting System (Pre-cutting)
- Function Description: Adopts a hydraulic front-cutting (pre-cutting) mechanism, installed before the roll forming unit. It cuts the raw material to the fixed length first, then sends it to the forming station, effectively avoiding material deformation during post-cutting and ensuring the flatness of the purlin end face.
- Working Principle: The encoder measures the feeding length in real time. When reaching the preset length, the hydraulic cutter acts instantly to cut the flat material, then the cut material is fed into the forming machine for roll forming.
- Key Advantages:
- Universal cutting mold design, no need to replace the cutter when switching different purlin sizes (C80–300/Z120–300);
- Cutter material: Cr12MoV steel, heat-treated hardness HRC 58–60, with long service life;
- Cutting precision: Length tolerance ≤ ±0.5mm, end face burr-free, no secondary finishing required.

3.Embossing Roller Device
- Function Description: Equipped with custom embossing rollers between the leveling unit and punching unit, used to process anti-slip patterns, reinforcement ribs, or customer-specific logos on the purlin surface. The embossing depth and pattern can be customized according to requirements.
- Key Design:
- Embossing roller material: 40Cr alloy steel, heat-treated for high hardness and wear resistance;
- Pattern type: Diamond, herringbone, or custom linear patterns;
- Adjustable embossing pressure to adapt to different material thicknesses without damaging the substrate;
- Synchronized with the main forming speed to ensure consistent pattern spacing and clarity.
- Advantages: Enhances the structural strength and surface friction of the purlin, preventing slipping during installation; improves the overall aesthetics and product added value.


4.Manual Changeover System (C/Z Purlin Switching)
- Function Description: Adopts a manual quick-change structure for switching between C-shaped and Z-shaped purlins, with no need to replace rollers or spacers. Operators can complete the shape changeover by adjusting the flip device and positioning bolts, which is cost-effective and easy to maintain compared with automatic changeover.
- Operation Steps:
- Stop the machine and loosen the positioning bolts of the forming frame;
- Manually flip the upper roller set to switch between C/Z forming modes;
- Adjust the horizontal and vertical positioning of the rollers according to the target purlin size;
- Lock the bolts and test run to confirm the dimension accuracy.
- Advantages: Simple structure, low failure rate, no need for hydraulic or servo auxiliary, suitable for small and medium-sized batch production; changeover time ≤ 15 minutes.
